Last year I finally managed to make a trip to the capital (well just outside of it) to visit Her Majesty’s Royal Yacht Britannia, which is docked on the East Coast of Scotland in Leith. Britannia was home to The Queen and the Royal Family for more than 40 years before being decommissioned in 1997. Aside from providing a fantastic day out, full of interesting facts about the Yacht and the Royal Family, along with delicious food, you can also hire Britannia as a venue to host your own event. Whilst on a small tour of Scotland last year we stopped off in Skye for a few nights stay at The Glenview, described as a “Restaurant with Rooms” this place was a fantastic find. The young couple who own The Glenview were delightful, the bedrooms had a minimalist design with a slight quirky feel and the food was quite possibly the best I have ever tasted! Worth a visit if you are ever in the area…
